The best way to see Hollywood is on a walking tour. Most attractions are located a few blocks from the Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard. The Walk of Fame at the Hollywood Boulevard honors those who have put their mark on certain films, music and theater by giving them a star placed on the side of the street. You can spend hours looking for your favorite stars such as Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Tom Hanks, etc..
There are many things you can do on Hollywood. One of them is to visit the homes of movie stars in special tourist vans. Venice Beach, just south of Santa Monica, is famous for its unique culture. Along the coast there are small shops lined up where you can find different things, from trendy, inexpensive clothes to tattoos. "Muscle Beach" located in Venice Beach is an outdoor gym next to the ocean where many Californians do exercise. You can also rent bikes or skates and explore the shoreline.
Manhattan and Hermosa Beach are located south of Venice Beach and Marina del rey. In these beaches Beach Volleyball was born.
If you prefer a beach where you can relax away from the tourist crowds, you can go north or south of the city. Local residents of LA go to Laguna Beach, Zuma or Malibu.
Griffith Park with its planetarium is located on Hollywood Hills. It contains recreational facilities, natural areas and various family attractions. You can do pony rides, nature walks and scenic walks. Griffith Park has a great view of the famous Hollywood sign. The planetarium and observatory offer various shows throughout the day.
Cemetery Forest Lawn Memorial Park, where they were buried some famous Hollywood stars like Michael Jackson, is also nearby. In this park, you can see many marble and bronze statues and the Museum of Mexican History.
The LA Zoo located in Griffith Park has more than 1,500 animals, birds and reptiles in their natural. Admission to the park cost $ 8.
Los Angeles has a variety of historical and art museums. One of the most popular is the Getty Museum. This museum is characterized by its beautiful architecture and gardens. Besides you can appreciate a spectacular view of Los Angeles.
