How can I apply to the English for Mining Professionals Program of University of Denver?

Will I receive any certificate at the end of the program?
Yes, at the end of the program, participants will receive a certificate of completion by the University of Denver.
Where are the classes held?
English classes will be in the English Language Center of The University of Denver. Mining related lecture might be in another builder or in another location as the Colorado School of Mines. If activities or classes are not in the campus of the University of Denver, transportation will be provided.
Do I need to apply for a student visa or another special visa?
No, students can attend this program with a tourist visa (B1/B2) or the ESTA permit.
Do I need to pay for health insurance?
Participants are not required to have additional insurance. However, it is strongly recommended that participants obtain supplemental insurance for the duration of this program.
The program includes housing and meals?
No, the program fee does not include housing or meals. Students are free to find a place that best meet their needs and budget.
When is the deadline to apply to the program?
There is no deadline. However, we suggest that you apply at least 2 months before the program start date. The capacity of the program is limited, in addition you can get a discount if you apply in advance.
When do I have to pay for the English Program?
Program must be paid in full during the application process. All payments are made to the University through their online system. A representative will guide you in the process.
When should I buy the flight tickets to Denver?
We advise not to buy the flight ticket until two months before the program starts, in case there is a last time change.
When should I arrive to Denver?
We advise students to arrive at least one day before the program starts. If you are planning in arriving on July 4th, that day is the Independence Day in the US, so you should expect some events and/or closure of some streets.
Is there any extra discount if a group of people take the program?
Please contact a representative for more details. An extra discount might be available if more than one person attends the program.
Can I travel to other cities in the US before or after the program?
Sure, the tourist visa usually allows you stay up to 6 months in the country. The ESTA permit allows you to stay usually up to 3 months.
Is there any minimum English requirement to attend the program?
Yes, students must have at least an intermediate English level in order to participate in the program. The University will send you a link with an online English Exam to measure your level before the enrollment.
I just finished the University. Can I attend the program if I do not have working experience?
Yes, if your major was related with the mining industry, you can attend the program.
I am 50 years old. Can I attend the program?
Yes, it is never too late to improve your English level.
There will be different levels in the English classes?
No, all students from the English for mining professionals program will be in the same English class. In this program you can expect to improve your knowledge in topics such as how to write an email in English, phone conversations, improve your presentation skills, among other important business skills.
